Paris Agreement

Renewable energy

Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat.

As you can see below, Iceland is the leader of producing renewable energy with 100% renewable of it's whole energy production, followed by Ethiopia (99.95%) and Norway (98%). By far the most countries have a renewable production below 40%. There is no correlation between the amount of gas emissions and renewable energy production. China, United States, Russia and India are the largest global emitters of the world but they all score lower than 20% on producing renewable energy. Another prediction of % renewable energy per country could be the date they signed the Paris Agreement. From 22 april 2016 all countries had the change to sign The Paris Agreement. There is no correlation between renewable energy production and the signing date but most countries signed 6-8 months after they had the change.
